NEW YORK - Vectrix, the world leader in Personal Electric Vehicles, debuted its all-electric VX-1E and VX-2 urban commuters at the Cycle World worldly Motorcycle Show earlier nowadays.
The VX-1E is an all-highway-capable scooter that has a top speed of 62 mph and a range of 35-55 miles. The VX-2 is a smaller, more compact scooter with a 30 mph speed capability and a 40-50 mile range. Both costs pennies to function and recharge in only 3 hours using a standard 110/220 outlet.
“It’s a perfect choice to replace cars for short urban trips,” said Mike Boyle, Vetrix CEO. “The shortest car trips are the most damaging in terms of global warming, air pollution and our dependence on foreign oil.”
You can plus take in a pin drop while riding these scooters. Their motors are that fairly.
Vectrix’s original Personal Electric Vehicle, the VX-1, was first introduced in 2007 and has since been picked up by law enforcement departments
The VX-1E uses the same platform and drivetrain as the original VX-1, yet is $2,000 cheaper and according to Vetrix, more commuter friendly — meaning it goes farther but has less acceleration and a lower top-speed.
“Acceleration uses the most energy, and the commuter doesn’t have to go as fast,” said Victor Pritzker, Vetrix Director of Sales in North America. “So, we used different battery technology in building the VX-1E to enable it to final longer.”
The VX-1E and the VX-2 are expected to reach at dealers later that year. Their price tags are still being debated but according to Pritzker the VX-2 should go for around $5,000 and the VX-1E around $8,500.

Vectrix missses the mark, once again! A new name for 2009, but its the same old bike just re-named! Sales Director Victor Pritzker is another example of the poor support Vectrix has, be it staff or bikes, they fall short of anything but a waste of money!
